Senior Accountant/Analyst

AP Professionals has partnered with an east side organization to fill a Senior Accountant vacancy. This role is blended, focusing on both corporate accounting and financial analysis. Per the hiring manager, it's roughly a 60/40 breakdown of accounting work vs. financial analysis. Larger, international organization, which equates to growth and advancement opportunities internally. Onsite during the 5-day close, then a hybrid schedule the rest of the month. Above market salary for a Senior level position!

• Support month-end reporting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, intercompany accounts, and reporting
• Review monthly department spend reports and investigate budget and other variances
• Support internal and external audits
• Ensure Sarbanes Oxley and other internal controls are executed timely
• Completion of quarterly and annual reporting schedules
• Prepare and file sales and use tax report by due dates
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and others to identity and achieve best practices
• Support continuous improvement efforts and change to enhance efficiency and controls
• Assist with special projects and backup other accounting team members when scheduling issues arise
• Assist with the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, and recurring and special reporting

• bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA/CMA license or progress towards preferred, but not required

• 3+ years of month-end accounting experience
• prior experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis a plus
