Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a growing design and consulting firm in search of a Principal Electrical Engineer. This role will contribute to the ongoing development of a modern and highly efficient Civil engineering practice, dedicated to delivering top-tier work. With immediate involvement in key projects and an established client base, you'll have the opportunity to further build your own clientele strategically. As the Practice Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing standards for the Civil Practice, including 3D design templates, libraries, specification standards, and quality assurance processes.

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Civil Engineering Group, nurturing its expansion.
  • Oversee the quality and on-time delivery of all Civil Engineering projects, whether they are under the purview of the Civil Group or other departments.
  • Exercise financial stewardship over all Civil Engineering-led projects.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, professional development, and mentorship of technical personnel within the Civil Engineering Group.
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for maintaining and upholding the firm's Civil Engineering Standards and Quality across all projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive civil design computations, modeling, and analyses.
  • Create design blueprints and draft contract specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates for construction and develop design narratives and engineering reports.
  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional design team to execute multi-disciplinary design projects.
  • Foster routine collaboration with organizational leaders, clients, stakeholders, governmental officials, contractors, and other relevant parties.

Education

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a comparable field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Hold a Professional Engineering License (PE) in New York and Pennsylvania, or have the capability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary civil engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Exhibit strong communication abilities, encompassing effective written and verbal skills, with a knack for marketing to secure new projects.
  • Display proficiency in the utilization of AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Show self-motivation and a strong drive to achieve success in professional endeavors.
  • Experience in any of the following areas is advantageous: Stormwater management and permitting, Site design, including parking lots and road reconstruction, Water treatment systems, Water supply, distribution, and storage, Sanitary sewer collection and storage, Pumping stations (for water, sewer, and stormwater), Steam systems, Underground storage tanks (UST), aboveground storage tanks (AST), and fueling systems, Design and construction of retaining walls, Design and construction of ramps and accessibility features
  • Familiarity with Autodesk SSA, HydroCAD, and/or EPANET is considered a positive attribute.
