The Accounting will work closely with the Supervisor and Manager to ensure accurate and financial records. The ideal candidate will have a background in supply chain and warehousing. Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial reports and analytics for various third-party funding organizations in collaboration with programmatic leaders and staff.
  • Assists with revenue recognition policies in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) for not-for-profit entities.
  • Audits, analyzes and reconciles ledger accounts to confirm completeness and accuracy of data. Uses judgment to assess whether account balances are reasonable; examines accounting documents to ascertain that transactions are properly supported in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Creates ad hoc reports as necessary to understand and explain agency financial activity.
  • Prepares journal entries, when necessary.
  • Reviews program financial statements with program leadership to ensure compliance with third party funding agency contract terms and conditions.
  • Follows internal control policies and assists with external audits.
  • Prepares reports to comply with external reporting requirements, including the preparation of midyear reporting and forecasts, cost reports, grant request information and follow up reporting, for funded programs.
  • Performs financial analysis on an as needed and requested basis.
  • Participates in the development and preparation of budgets for new programs and contracts.
  • Prepares annual operating budgets and financial forecasts as assigned.
  • Participates in meetings and training programs as required.
  • Prepares assigned Finance Committee and Board of Director meeting materials. Attends Board and committee meetings as directed.
  • Provides regional financial information to the Finance Department leadership for consolidating financial statements.
  • Maintains a high level of expertise in specialized areas through continuing education, individual contacts, and attendance at meetings as directed or necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

 

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Experience

 

  • One (1) to three (3) years of professional accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
