Accounting Manager

Newly created position supporting a VP Finance that AP Professionals knows well. Will be a strong mentor and facilitate career development. This organization is financially healthy with revenues increasing 50% over the last 2 years, and more growth forecasted. The ideal candidate has several years of public accounting or corporate experience and understands GAAP. You will ultimately assume responsibility for the management of the company's accounting functions: payables, receivables, month-end close, financial statement preparation, etc.

The plan is for the new hire to ascend to a Controller level in 2 years. But that can certainly happen quicker depending on performance. Excellent chance for a more junior accountant to take their career to new heights!

• general ledger maintenance, ensuring accounts are reconciled
• review and approve weekly payroll
• monitor cash flow on a daily and weekly basis
• manage the month-end close process
• assist with compliance reporting as requested
• support year-end audit requests
• support due diligence and integration work related to M&A activity
• manage payables, receivables, and payroll staff
• keep an eye out for process improvement opportunities
• collaborate with other departments to ensure procedural efficiencies
• ad hoc projects and analysis

• bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• MBA or professional certifications (CPA, CMA) a plus

• 2+ years of GAAP accounting experience
• preference for someone with public accounting experience
