IMMEDIATE NEED! AP Professionals has partnered with a large local company in search of a temporary Accounts Payable Manager for a minimum 60 day assignment, with the potential to be considered for the full-time position. The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee and manage high-volume accounts payable operations, with a mix of supervisory and hands-on responsibilities. The ideal candidate is someone collaborative, detail oriented, and self motivated. This is a hybrid position.


  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships across Shared Services teams and internal/external customer groups. Partners with key stakeholders to gain support for Shared Services programs and initiatives.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the Accounts Payable Department, including banking, invoice processing, , vendor maintenance, and disbursements.
  • Collaborates with Procurement staff and PO requisitioners to implement, train, and support best practices for the procure-to-pay (P2P) process.
  • Works effectively across functions and regions to support shared initiatives.
  • Leads/supports the design and development of Shared Services operational plans, promoting outstanding people management practices and resource utilization for a high-performing service delivery culture.
  • Ensures accurate transaction processing and timely communication with internal and external partners.
  • Partners with the Treasury Department to manage banking operations and the virtual card program for vendor payments.
  • Prepares and analyzes reports to create and/or manage key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provides guidance and leadership to functional teams, implementing policies and strategies that support business priorities and strategic direction.
  • Monitors and analyzes accounts payable processes and recommends improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes for accounts payable.
  • Presents and communicates results and analyses to management to assist in driving business decisions.
  • Develops and manages the Accounts Payable team, setting individual and team goals, performance measures, and conducting performance evaluations. Facilitates ongoing professional development, ensuring staff members are effectively engaged and motivated.
  • Promotes a customer-centered service delivery culture and continuous improvement to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and customer expectations.
  • Manages the 1099 process and vendor master file management.
  • Ensures SOX compliance, working closely with internal and external auditors to assist with internal controls and provide documentation and support as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Leads/supports efforts to maximize the company's working capital, providing monthly accounts payable forecasting.
  • Leads/supports projects and initiatives, collaborating with IT and other business units to design, test, and implement solutions.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


  • At least 5 years of relevant accounts payable experience required.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing direct reports in Accounts Payable.
  • Preferred experience with Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and QuickBooks.
  • Experience working in a SOX environment.
