Description

AP Professionals of Rochester has partnered with a local manufacturing company in search of an Algorithm Engineer. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with a seasoned and diverse team of developers. Together, you'll engage in researching and conceptualizing solutions, creating prototypes, and seamlessly integrating them into our software platform. Your primary mission will revolve around the exploration and implementation of machine learning and artificial intelligence-driven solutions, aiming to deliver top-tier, cutting-edge performance.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the development of advanced algorithms employing cutting-edge machine learning, computer vision, image processing, and optimization principles.
  • Integrate the solution prototype into the software platform.
  • Continuously enhance and refine product performance and quality.
  • Undertake technical documentation tasks, including product requirements analysis.
  • Travel to production sites to provide on-site assistance, gather data, and analyze performance, among other responsibilities.

Education

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Imaging Science, or a related STEM discipline, with evident academic exposure to machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computer vision.

Experience

  • Developer experience, which can be illustrated through personal portfolio projects or academic endeavors showcasing complete solution development.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of fundamental mathematical concepts including linear algebra, probability, statistics, calculus, algorithm development, and optimization, whether gained through academic coursework or projects.
  • Proficiency in programming using one or more of the following languages: C/C++, Python, R, Java.
  • Possess knowledge of machine learning.
  • Have an understanding of Color Science.
  • Be familiar with popular computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning libraries and frameworks such as OpenCV and MLPack.
  • Exhibit experience in object-oriented design and professional software development, possibly through internships or co-op positions.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of data structures, algorithm analysis, and optimization techniques.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Linux and open-source frameworks and libraries.
