AP Professionals has partnered with a local company seeking an Audit Director. The Audit Director will oversee the audit department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services to our clients. This role involves managing audit engagements, mentoring and developing audit staff, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public accounting, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of auditing standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage the audit department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
    • Develop and implement audit strategies and plans to meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
    • Supervise, mentor, and provide professional development opportunities for audit staff.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and industry trends.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their concerns and providing insights.
    • Present audit findings and recommendations to clients' senior management and audit committees.
  • Audit Execution:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements in accordance with auditing standards and firm policies.
    • Review and approve audit workpapers, reports, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Identify and resolve complex audit and accounting issues, leveraging technical expertise and industry knowledge.
  • Quality Control and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to professional standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
    • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain the integrity and reliability of audit engagements.
    • Stay updated on emerging accounting and auditing standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify opportunities for expanding the company's audit services and client base.
    • Participate in marketing and business development initiatives, including proposal writing and presentations.
    • Network with industry professionals and organizations to enhance the company's reputation and visibility.

Education

  • CPA certification required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on audit and assurance services.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, managing audit teams and client relationships.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB standards, and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
