Description

AP Professionals is excited to be partnering with a distribution company in search of a Branch Manager! As the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for supervising daily operations and ensuring the overall profitability of the branch. You will work closely with the Director of Operations to expand and strengthen your branch.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily operations of a branch, including safety, inside sales, warehousing, and distribution. Leads a team of Counter Sales, Warehouse, and Driver employees.
  • Responsible for sales, including developing and maintaining customer relationships, implementing upselling and add-on selling techniques, and post-sales follow-up activities.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams and external vendors to create and implement marketing plans to target important market segments.
  • Coordinates and manages all sales promotion activities, merchandising and displays.
  • Ensure accurate placement of sales orders and timely scheduling of deliveries.
  • Manages and leads the branch’s annual-bi-annual inventories, daily hard goods inventory cycle counts and maintains the inside sales counter and warehouse appearance.
  • Manage all receiving activities for hard goods and ensure prompt and daily completion of all dynamic deployment tasks, including inter-branch orders for hard goods.
  • Daily monitoring of reports is conducted to keep track of open orders/delivery, billing and delivery blocks, and open purchase order (PO) reports. Additionally, a Daily Cash Reconciliation (DCR) is performed to ensure that all accounts are in balance and any issues are addressed prior to deposit.
  • Manages branch operating expenses including overtime and office supplies. Works with corporate accounts receivable to manage branch credits and collections.
  • Building a team and providing mentoring and leadership to all employees.
  • Ensuring that all the branch employees always follow proper safety protocols.
  • Reorders supplies as needed by coordinating with the Purchasing Team; receives and processes incoming material.
  • Manage employees, oversee hiring, training, and development processes, conducting performance evaluations, coaching/counseling, and taking disciplinary action when necessary. It's essential to collaborate with HR to ensure a smooth process.
  • Maintains warehouse vehicles & equipment by completing preventive maintenance & arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the building or construction management industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee management, including hiring, supervision, and coaching.
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word required PowerPoint experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Must be able to perform all functions in the warehouse when needed including, but not limited to, driving a forklift, loading, and unloading trucks, operating a pallet jack, and lifting up-to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem solving/solution orientation.
