Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of a Business Development Manager for their Life Sciences department. This role entails the identification of fresh customers and novel applications within the Life Sciences sector. This role will entail close collaboration with the Commercial and R&D teams to translate new business prospects into sustainable revenue growth.

This is a Full Time, Direct Hire opportunity offering excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential clients.
  • Foster new business relationships to align with our objectives.
  • Cultivate nascent connections to secure future business opportunities.
  • Ensure that our instrumentation R&D pipeline aligns with annual targets.
  • Engage externally with customers and collaborate internally with R&D and Operations to reach consensus on performance, pricing, and lead times, thereby bolstering sales prospects.
  • Collaborate with product management and Engineering teams to secure new design-ins through our gate review processes.
  • Recognize the capabilities required to expedite growth.
  • Collaborate with our product managers and account managers to achieve parallel successes.
  • Develop a well-balanced portfolio that encompasses both fresh and existing business, as well as a balance between contract R&D and contract manufacturing.
  • Generate innovative solutions during ongoing customer meetings.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the organization on the prerequisites for winning new business.
  • Identify and participate in crucial conferences and trade shows.
  • Assist Marketing in highlighting our unique selling points.
  • Operate within the framework of ISO 9001/ISO 13485 standards.

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience in business development within the medical device industry.
  • MS degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in business development within the medical device industry.

Experience

  • Proficiency in the technological and commercial aspects of Photonics is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities are a must.
  • Experience in the realm of photonic-enabled medical devices, particularly in areas such as Ophthalmology, Devices for drug development, Cardiology (preferred), Aesthetic procedures

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
