The ideal candidate will bring a strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and construction industry expertise to oversee various financial functions within the company.  This will be a hands-on role with responsibilities that will include journal entries and account reconciliations and analysis as needed. You must be comfortable jumping in where needed. Your vision will determine the future of the finance function.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Manage banking relationships and ensure effective cash management.
  • Oversee insurance policies and risk management strategies to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making processes, including sales projections.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure WIP reporting accuracy.
  • Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain efficient and accurate processing.
  • Oversee payroll
  • Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and working capital.
  • Oversee the HR function.
  • Manage the financial aspects of employee compensation, benefits, and payroll.
  • Ensure legal compliance for employment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
  • MBA or CPA preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in an accounting role that demonstrates advancement and growth.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Prior financial accounting and reporting experience within the construction industry is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong understanding of construction financial management, including WIP reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and tools.
