Controller

AP Professionals has partnered with a growing, professional services organization in search of a Controller. The focus would not be on internal financials, but rather on various clients of the firm as a consultant. So, the right candidate needs to be able to walk into a business, look at financials, and get a sense of the big picture. Great variety and flexibility! Leadership is even open to part-time arrangements, if 40 hours per week is not desired (pay would be less than the range listed). Modern culture and atmosphere with a beautiful, new office. There are some remote work capabilities as well, so it's not fully onsite. Very minimal travel, as most of the work is performed at the company's office... not at the clients. Plus, all clients are here locally in Rochester.

• bookkeeping clean-up projects
• support and mentor staff accountants
• supervise the month-end close process
• review and evaluate financial statements
• provide clients with feedback and develop recommendations to improve efficiencies and reduce costs
• help with system conversions and other Controller-level projects

• bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

• prior experience closing books and evaluating financials
• strong familiarity with QuickBooks and Excel
• the more experience with various accounting softwares, the better
