Description

AP Professionals is recruiting for an experienced Controller/Finance Manager on behalf of our client. This position serves as a business partner to management and directs the general accounting, analysis, and financial reporting functions. Lean team with 2-3 direct reports. The ideal candidate will be process-improvement minded, and look for ways to increase efficiency. Leadership is very receptive to new ideas! Onsite role, but very flexible and casual environment. Responsibilities

  • Monitor, supervise and perform necessary accounting for month-end close.
  • Prepare detailed, monthly financial reporting package.
  • Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the Company’s performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial budgets and provide management with analysis of budget variances.
  • Leads the tax preparation and submission process.
  • Oversee capital projects from a finance perspective.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual and monthly forecasts, including cash forecasts.
  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Work closely with external auditors and assist with financial disclosure issues and footnote preparation.
  • Maintain and evaluate, on a periodic basis, a system of inventory and manufacturing costing.
  • Conduct and cost periodic physical inventories.
  • Assist and have involvement in treasury activities.
  • Evaluate current accounting processes, software, and resources. Recommend, justify, and implement improvements that will increase efficiency, production, and reduce dependencies on a person or position for processing transactions.
  • Ad hoc projects and reporting as requested.

Education

  • bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred

Experience

  • 8 years or more of related experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in general ledger, financial analysis, U.S. GAAP, and SOX controls.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage/delegate.
