Description

AP Professionals is seeking an experienced controller who has worked in the long-term care environment and understands the related revenue streams that supports such an environment.  The primary functions of this controller is to oversee the financial activities of the operations of multiple locations of direct care facilities.  This will include overseeing the daily financial operations, creating and managing budgets, including capital budgets, and providing financial reporting.  The position supervises accounts payable, billing, and purchasing as well.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall accuracy of financial information including internal management reports and external board and regulatory reports.
  • Responsible for the structure and operations of the organizations budgeting process.
  • Responsible for accounts payable, billing, and purchasing.
  • Responsible for major reimbursement areas for the facilities such as but not limited to revenue, third party, rates, cost reports (Medicare & Medicaid).
  • Oversees cash management operation of organization.
  • Oversees and is responsible for coordination of annual external audit process.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing all FASB/IRS and other accounting rules and requirements as they relate to the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

This positon requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.  A master's degree and CPA will be given priority consideration.

Experience

 

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in health care finance focused on budgeting, forecasting and reimbursement areas
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience required
  • Knowledge/ Expertise of Nursing Home Reimbursement and Cost Reporting

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals, reports and legal documents.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or scheduled form.
