Field Service Engineer

AP is partnering with a local manufacturer in search of a Field Service Engineer. As a talented and team-oriented Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to our laser systems in scientific and industrial applications with partners in bio-photonics, industrial metrology, and quantum technology industries. This hands-on work is direct customer support both in the North American Headquarters’ office and at customer sites throughout North America.

• Conduct field service on existing company laser systems at customer sites.
• Install new laser systems at customer locations; regular travel will be necessary.
• Perform in-house service and repair of laser systems as needed.
• Troubleshoot technical and application problems with both internal and external customers.
• Periodically travel to the company's headquarters in Munich for training and product orientation.

• Physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific degree is a must.

• Substantial expertise and experience in hands-on work with both cw and/or ultrafast lasers and optical techniques.
• Practical experience installing and aligning optical systems.

• Practical experience installing and aligning optical systems.
• Understanding of optical principles and design.
• Knowledge of laser system design.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to remain poised in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an outgoing personality and a willingness to interact with others.
• Capability to lift and transport objects up to 50 pounds.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required.
