AP Professionals is partnering with a local company in search of a dynamic Government Sales Representative, driven by motivation and enthusiasm. This individual will play a pivotal role in expanding our government sales portfolio at both the federal and state levels. The primary focus of the Government Sales Representative will be to foster the growth of new business within the United States, reporting directly to a divisional president within our organization.

This is a remote position and can be anywhere in the USA, but we mildly prefer New York State.


  • Cultivates and finalizes business agreements with new prospects at the federal and state levels, while engaging with existing government clients to enhance sales of the organization's comprehensive training products and services.
  • Nurtures and expands established relationships with state and federal customers.
  • Achieves or surpasses predetermined sales targets.
  • Devises a strategic sales plan to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to implement necessary initiatives, such as customizing products or services, to secure sales contracts.
  • Identifies and pursues new sales opportunities with government clients, leveraging the company's GSA schedule where applicable.
  • Develops and maintains proposal and contract documentation relevant to government/GSA schedule, projects, and contracts.
  • Represents the company at pertinent industry events, conferences, and tradeshows.


  • Requires 2+ years government sales experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Sound understanding of government and GSA contracting including account structures, procurement processes, RFPs, and standard bid requests & a willingness to perform the necessary paperwork, as there will not be support staff typical of larger organization.
  • Strong existing relationships in the government arena, as well as a strong track record of new business development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work remotely and structure your own time. Our optimal candidate will have self-direction, initiative, and the organizational skills needed to succeed.
  • Familiarity with working with a CRM.
