Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily HR functions, ensuring efficiency and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; regularly review and update policies.
  • Manage the hiring process, including recruitment, interviews, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Address workplace concerns, handle disciplinary actions and terminations, and support performance management to foster a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals, focusing on staffing, retention, and workforce development.
  • Develop and implement policies, training programs, and compliance initiatives to support employee growth and legal adherence.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, oversee payroll deductions and contributions, and ensure competitive and compliant incentive plans.
  • Manage retirement plans and employee insurance programs in partnership with brokers, ensuring fiduciary compliance.
  • Handle labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and ensure compliance with EEO, affirmative action, and employment regulations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for HR inquiries, employee concerns, and workplace investigations, ensuring fair resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare required reports, including EEO, BLS, and 5500 filings. Conduct research and analyze HR data to inform decision-making.
  • Support labor negotiations by gathering data, assessing wage scales, benefits, and workplace conditions, and assisting with contract documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and HR documentation while staying informed on industry trends and best practices.
  • Perform additional HR responsibilities as needed to support the organization’s evolving needs.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience in human resource management required.
  • Experience in labor relations is required.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address HR challenges and support business needs.
  • Adaptability to organizational changes and employee needs while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn HR systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor relations, employee benefits, compensation, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and the National Labor Relations Act.
