Staff Accountant

Do you have experience working in the construction industry? AP Professionals has the job for  you! We have partnered with a local construction company in search of a Staff Accountant to join their Finance team!

• Aid in the preparation of quarterly financial & sales tax audit.
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information and preparing journal entries as necessary.
• Research items/create ad-hoc reports for management.
• Analyze processes to increase efficiency and maintain internal controls.
• Partner with the Accounting Manager to ensure that month end deadlines are being met and information is reported accurately.
• Maintain and balance general ledger accounts monthly by verifying, allocating & reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare job cost analyses for field reporting and to finalize monthly reporting.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience
• Previous COINS experience, preferred
• Prior Cost Accounting experience. preferred
• Prior construction industry experience, preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
• Attention to detail and organized in work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory.
