Description

If you are an experienced Litigation Assistant, we have a terrific DIRECT HIRE opportunity for you!  We are currently working with a well-known downtown law firm to secure qualified candidates to join this growing team.  You will work with 3 other legal assistants to help support 3-4 attorneys and Partners.  This department represents corporations, municipalities, towns and more.  Come bring your litigation expertise to this amazing organization to work alongside other professionals.

This position is located downtown with parking costs of $55 monthly that is pre-tax. Responsibilities

  • Assists in drafting and preparing correspondence, memoranda, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents for state and federal court cases; supports discovery-related tasks, including document production and review.
  • Aids in the submission of electronic court filings in both state and federal courts as directed.
  • Manages court deadlines and schedules, coordinates depositions, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Communicates with clients through various channels and responds to inquiries as appropriate.
  • Initiates new client matters, drafts engagement letters, and collaborates with the finance department to facilitate client billing.
  • Organizes and maintains files for new and existing client matters, including preparing files for closure.
  • Handles administrative tasks such as time entry, calendar management, expense reimbursements, and mail distribution.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, providing necessary materials and support as required.

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Business or a related field desirable.
  • BA or BS is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a litigation legal assistant is a must.
  • Experience with E-Discovery systems is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse clients and staff while delivering exceptional client service.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Intellectual Property, Employee Benefits, and Corporate practice areas, including relevant procedures, forms, and terminology, is preferred.
  • Skilled in proofreading and reviewing documents for grammatical, typographical, spelling, word usage, and formatting errors.
  • Strong writing abilities with keen attention to detail, accuracy, and proper grammar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
