Description

AP Professionals is excited to be partnering with a local manufacturer in search of a Maintenance and Electrical Engineering Technician! This individual will perform repairs, and maintain production and facility equipment, ensuring safety and adherence to maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all design, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical devices.
  • Performing emergency and unscheduled repairs on production equipment during operation, along with scheduled maintenance repairs during machine servicing.
  • Conducting machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Utilizing mechanical skills, such as electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, to troubleshoot and repair production machines.
  • Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete necessary maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor a range of systems and machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and the facility itself
  • Identify issues, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust equipment as needed
  • Recognize faulty operations and defective materials and report to the appropriate management personnel
  • Design, monitor, and maintain vacuum systems, with a focus on understanding materials in vacuum environments.
  • Utilizes a variety of tools, including hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment, to perform duties
  • Designs, codes, and installs electronics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for various equipment
  • Adheres to safety regulations and maintains a neat and tidy work environment
  • Collaborates with outside contractors or vendors when necessary to coordinate work performed
  • Identifies new or replacement parts required and collaborates with the team to place orders.
  • Assist with regular maintenance tasks around the facility.
  • Offer technical training for other members of the team and management.
  • Create and update documentation and SOPs to fulfill ISO9001/IATF 16949 certification requirements.
  • Complete any special projects assigned by the Fab Director.

Education

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or university in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field of study required
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a fabrication environment required
  • Experience with vacuum environments preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to apply theory and instructions from engineers as well as act independently to design, develop, manufacture and test mechanical devices including tools, equipment, and machines
  • Understanding of a fabrication environment
  • Knowledge of and ability to assess overall health of tools
  • Ability to run various shop tools like lathes, grinders, mill presses etc.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design software such as CAD or SolidWorks
  • Proficient skills in mechanical operation in a vacuum environment
  • Overall electrical and mechanical aptitude
