Description

Financial leadership opportunity with a global manufacturer! Local operations are southwest of Rochester. Stable and secure industry, with this company enduring for over 100 years currently. This person is responsible for the general accounting functions of the company, as well as cost accounting and financial analysis. Onsite for training/onboarding, then a hybrid schedule of Mondays and Fridays remote. There's a discretionary annual bonus for this role, too.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the Company general ledgers. Prepares departmental, divisional and consolidated financial statements. Prepares reporting packages. Analyzes variances.
  • Conducts special accounting studies, analyses and cost studies. Prepares special accounting and cost study reports for departments.
  • Participates in monthly/quarterly operating forecasts and the annual budget for the Company.
  • Leads the external audit process and coordinates with auditors. Prepares audited financial statements and notes for release to external parties.
  • Recommends modifications, and works closely with the Director of IT, to modify the chart of accounts, cost systems, and other practices to meet changing trends and conditions.
  • Installs cost control procedures and provides supervision over cost systems and methods.
  • Follows up on expenditures and supervises assembly of data and comparison of various budget items.
  • Reviews completed product manufacturing costs. Reviews and analyzes unit costs of finished products.
  • Supervises maintenance of manufacturing ledgers and cost accounting activities. Prepares plant financial and other control reports.  Compiles and analyzes operating performance reports.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, experience with IFRS a plus
  • Willingness and ability to learn and navigate new systems/softwares
  • Strong Excel skills
