Network Systems Specialist

AP Professionals has partnered with a bank headquartered in Rochester, NY seeking a Network Systems Specialist. Communicate with all levels of the company to install and maintain servers and networks. This is a 100% onsite role to improve current technology and support day-to-day operations. A bachelor’s degree in technology is desired along with 5 years of related experience.

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

• Install, maintain, and monitor server infrastructure including hardware, software, physical, virtual and cloud solutions.
• Install and manage the network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN.
• Administer Windows and Linux for optimal performance.
• Administration of firewalls, switches, routers, and other networks.
• Respond to server and network issues and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain server and network documentation.
• Implement and manage 3rd party applications and 3rd party network connectivity.
• Configure and maintain infrastructure solutions including (Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, Azure).
• Design, implement and test BCP/DR plans and backup solutions.
• Procurement and installation of hardware and software.
• Respond to issues escalated from end user support teams.
• Recommend areas for automation or improvement.
• Maintain documentation within ticketing system.
• Support miscellaneous infrastructure including cabling, backup power systems, cooling systems, etc. as needed.
• Propose vendors within areas of responsibly and monitor selected vendor’s performance.
• Cross train employees on current systems or changes.
• Occasional on-call responsibility.
• Continued learning through conferences and seminars.

• Bachelor’s degree in technology or a related field.

• 5+ years professional work experience required.

• Ability to communicate technical solutions with all levels of the company.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• General knowledge and experience with banking related technologies and services preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
