Description

We have a great opportunity to work as a Patient Service Rep. for a community of medical and social service professionals.  This position is 37.5 hours a week, length of assignment is long term, and pay is between $19-22 hourly.  Our client is located in the Henrietta area and offers a pristine environment to work in.  If you have experience in the medical field and like to make a difference, this is a position you will want to explore!

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Patient Service Rep. Lead, Practice Manager and AVP, Clinic Operations you would be responsible for performing a variety of non-clinical duties.  These duties support patients, clients, clinic medical providers and other staff.

  • Receive and greet all patients with a friendly attitude
  • Use EMR to coordinate and schedule patients
  • Answer calls, route incoming calls and initiate triage request if necessary
  • Check voicemail system regularly throughout the day
  • Check patients in/out, verify patient information, enter health insurance information
  • Collect co-pays and other fees for services and process payment
  • Enter medical records into EMR system
  • Do reminder calls to patients to confirm upcoming appointments
  • Reschedule appointments
  • Fax medical documentation as needed
  • Sort, scan and route incoming mail to the appropriate provider into the EMR in a timely manner
  • Assist in obtaining medical records
  • Manage release of medical records and track when sent and received
  • Route inbound faxes to appropriate individuals
  • Maintain provider schedules to accommodate PTO/Conference etc by rescheduling patients

Education

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 yrs of experience in a medical office

Experience

1-3 years of experience working in a medical office or clinic required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to act calmly
  • Good telephone etiquette
  • Ability to follow and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Communicate clearly with patients and staff
  • Good oral and written skills in English, Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to keep confidential information
