Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a well-established manufacturing company that has been in business for over a century in search of a Plant Engineer! The Plant Engineer performs engineering tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Operations Director. They will oversee the installation of new equipment and modifies existing machinery as needed to enhance productivity within the plant. Also, they will lead the maintenance department, providing guidance, instruction, and corrective action as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the application of sound engineering practices in the design of new and existing equipment, as well as building systems.
  • Actively troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Proficient in PLC programming.
  • Oversee the installation and startup of new equipment.
  • Design, implement, and commission equipment modifications.
  • Negotiate pricing and procure equipment and services as needed.
  • Prepare Capital Expenditure Requisitions, including gathering justification details and cost estimates for capital investments.
  • Complete preliminary capital expenditure requisitions.
  • Submit formal capital expenditure requisitions.
  • Supervise the maintenance department and coordinate with external contractors.
  • Ensure adequate utilities to support the seamless operation of manufacturing equipment and ancillary systems (e.g., incineration, building heating).
  • Maintain compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Participate in plant manufacturing improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a member of the company’s Leadership Team, which functions as the designated Food Safety Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.

Experience

  • Four to ten years of related experience and/or training.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered as an equivalent.
