Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a food and beverage manufacturing company in search of a Production Control and Purchasing specialist. The ideal candidate will offer comprehensive supply chain support. Key areas of emphasis encompass purchasing, forecasting, raw materials management, capacity planning, and production control.

This is a direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Supply Chain Manager in procurement tasks, including managing Requests for Quotation and Vendor Qualification.
  • Take responsibility for generating and overseeing purchase orders for raw materials, consumables, and MRO items.
  • Supervise outsourced co-packing operations.
  • Aid the Supply Chain Manager in monthly demand planning and production scheduling.
  • Develop and maintain purchase orders and production schedules for all outsourced manufacturing.
  • Establish and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all manufactured products.

Experience

  • Proficient in various purchasing activities, such as RFP/RFQ, vendor qualification, purchase orders, and cost analysis.
  • Well-versed in production control, encompassing BOMs, production scheduling, work orders, kitting, and management of outsourced manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledgeable in international logistics, including air freight, ocean transportation, and understanding of INCOTERMS.
  • Preferred experience in Customs/Trade Compliance, including trade assists and HTS classification.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Skilled in utilizing ERP systems for inventory control, purchasing, and production transactions (preferably NetSuite).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational capabilities, able to effectively prioritize and perform multiple tasks within designated deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and thrive with minimal supervision.
