Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a food manufacturing company in search of a Production Supervisor.  The role of the Production Supervisor involves guiding and organizing the operations on the Production floor to accomplish the objectives of the Company. They will efficiently fulfill the daily production targets, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and maintaining high levels of Employee Safety. It is their responsibility to guarantee that all employees receive thorough training and clear instructions.

This is a direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all operational processes to manufacture products that adhere to specified standards.
  • Supervise and ensure the accurate completion of all departmental records.
  • Achieve and maintain costs that are at or below the established standards.
  • Take charge of coordinating activities among departments to guarantee the safe delivery and storage of materials.
  • Foster and advocate for teamwork, continuous improvement, and the proper training of employees to effectively fulfill their roles in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Formulate and implement a daily production plan that optimizes the utilization of all materials.
  • Make informed decisions concerning product quality, employee issues, equipment malfunctions, and promptly inform the Plant Manager of any problems.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Experience

  • The ideal candidate should have three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a supervisor or team leader in food processing.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in the preparation, packaging, and thermal processes of raw products.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, team leaders, and subordinates.
  • Familiarity with essential procedures and regulations such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, AIB, and GMP.
  • Ability to make prompt decisions when necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Availability to work weekends and extended hours.
  • Work environment involves frequent walking and standing in wet/humid conditions, with exposure to chemicals and high noise levels.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Adherence to Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness and aptitude to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is an added advantage!
