Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a machine shop looking for an Quality assurance inspector. As the Quality Assurance Inspector, your primary responsibility will encompass the implementation, auditing, and enhancement of the Quality Management System. You'll bring to the role a set of key skills and competencies that include proficient computer skills, a solid understanding of GD&T principles, effective interpersonal and communication abilities, and a familiarity with ISO and AS System standards, coupled with previous internal audit experience which is beneficial. Your comprehensive metrology knowledge will play a pivotal role in ensuring precision, and your proficiency in the setup and programming of Smart Scopes will further contribute to the quality assurance process.

This is a direct hire, full-time position located in the Greater Rochester, NY area.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates familiarity with the Company's quality policy.
  • Exhibits knowledge regarding the QMS policies and protocols.
  • Creates plans for quality control.
  • Establishes a system to calibrate measuring and testing equipment.
  • Holds the authority to halt production, restrict further processing, or delay the delivery of nonconforming items until the issue is rectified.
  • Identifies and documents issues related to products, processes, and the QMS.
  • Validates implemented remedies.
  • Participates in processes for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Offers inspection support, encompassing first article, in-process, and final quality reports.
  • Maintains records of quality.
  • Compiles statistical data and crafts descriptive reports summarizing findings from quality assurance activities.
  • Initiates, suggests, or provides solutions through designated channels.
  • Executes inspection tasks to assess product compliance with customer stipulations.
  • Holds the authorization to release products to customers.
  • Possesses training in the procedure for dealing with nonconforming materials.
  • Generates all necessary quality documents.

Education

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, coupled with either an associate degree, technical/trade school training, or an equivalent combination.

Experience

  • Proficient in the use and operation of inspection hand tools, optical comparators, and CMM operations. Additionally, possesses knowledge and experience with industry-standard inspection methods.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Familiarity with computer operations and applications is a prerequisite.
  • Capable of comprehending and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, verbal instructions, and written communications in order to effectively carry out assigned tasks.
  • Exercise independent judgment in relation to inspection duties and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team to develop solutions for a variety of intricate challenges.
  • Displays strong interpersonal skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication abilities, enabling seamless interaction with personnel of various levels while fulfilling quality assurance obligations.
