Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of a Quality Inspector. The primary responsibility of this role will be to Conduct diverse inspections on materials, precision machined components, and electrical-mechanical assemblies to verify compliance with specified requirements. Employ a wide range of measuring instruments, including hand tools, gauges, vision equipment, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Generate quality documentation in accordance with customer requirements for the final shipment.

 

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize various inspection gauges and equipment to ensure compliance with visual and dimensional drawing specifications. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of calipers, micrometers, bore mics, depth gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, and snap gauges.
  • Operate equipment such as profilometers, optical comparators, height gauges, microscopes, smart scopes, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Conduct incoming and receiving inspections according to specified requirements.
  • Perform inspections on finished details and assemblies to ensure compliance with specified requirements.
  • Carry out Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis.
  • Enter inspection results into various data collection tools and databases.
  • Inspect welded and brazed assemblies. The candidate must possess internal certification for weld inspection.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage quality documentation.
  • Execute inventory movement transactions in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and ensure product traceability.
  • Understand the process for handling non-conforming materials to maintain control over the materials.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Quality, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments in a professional manner.
  • Prepare comprehensive material rejection reports that include problem statements, dimensions, and data.
  • Retrieve test data from databases and compile documentation packages to accompany the product during shipment.
  • Possess proficiency in navigating multiple customer websites and understanding their requirements to compile documents and perform Customer Delegated Source Inspection (DSQR).
  • Utilize the Syteline ERP system to access quality requirements and complete tasks related to product movement within the system.
  • Familiarize oneself with the return material process to compile parts and documentation for eventual shipment back to the customer.
  • Fulfill assigned tasks as directed by the Inspection Department Supervisor or Quality Manager.
  • Support the Company's Quality Policy.

Education

  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma.
  • Preferred associate's degree or higher in a technical discipline/trade.

Experience

  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and fundamental statistical concepts.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Familiarity with computer software such as Statistical Software, Access, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience in programming with Calypso.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows-Office and Excel applications.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in reading and utilizing micrometers and other handheld instruments.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend engineering drawings and related technical documents.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) principles and their practical application.
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and fundamental statistical concepts.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Mandatory visual acuity, including the ability to identify color variations and irregularities in capsules/tablets.
  • Flexibility in availability for shift assignments when necessary.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling packages weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
