Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a Machine Shop looking for a Quality Technician. Open due to growth! The Quality Technician will implement, audit, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS). This position reports to a great Hiring Manager who values energetic, self-starters who don’t require micro-management.

 This is a direct hire position. 

This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Become knowledgeable in the Company quality policy, and QMS policies and procedures
  • Develop quality control plans and maintain a system for calibration of measuring and test equipment
  • When a deficiency has occurred, stop production in order to limit further processing or delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency has been corrected
  • Identify and record problems relating to the product, process, and QMS
  • Verify implemented solutions
  • Carry out requests for quotes, contract review and design control processes
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action processes
  • Provide inspection support that includes: first article, in-process and end item quality reports
  • Maintains quality records and initial or sign and date all documents and revisions
  • Compile statistical data and write narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings
  • Performs inspection tasks to determine if product meets customer requirements
  • Initiate and coordinate corrective action activities (Nonconforming Material Report)
  • Produce all required quality documentation for customer product Initial or sign and date all documents and revisions

Education

  • Associate degree, technical/trade school training or equivalent with minimum of 3 years related experience

Experience

  • Use and operation of Inspection hand tools, Optical comparator, CMM operation as well as knowledge and experience of industry inspection methods
  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications required.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches and verbal and written communications to accomplish the job at hand.
  • Required to utilize independent judgment related to inspection function and activities.
  • Must be able to work independently or on a team providing solutions to a range of complex problems.
  • Possesses good interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills to interface with various levels of employees while performing quality assurance functions
