AP Professionals has partnered with a privately owned real estate investment firm in search of a Real Estate Analyst. This role will be responsible for managing financial activities related to construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, monitoring project budgets, and collaborating with project teams to support successful financial outcomes. This position requires a candidate with a four-year degree in accounting or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.  This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements related to construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Project Budgeting and Monitoring:

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets.
  • Track project costs, identify variances, and provide financial insights to support decision-making.

Cost Control:

  • Implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
  • Review and reconcile project expenses, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Invoicing and Billing:

  • Generate and review invoices for construction projects.
  • Coordinate billing processes and resolve any invoicing discrepancies.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis on construction projects to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.

Collaboration with Project Teams:

  • Work closely with the Controller, Asset Manager, Deal Analyst, Construction Loan Manager and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and financial implications.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide financial updates and insights.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for construction projects.
  • Ensure documentation is in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA is a plus.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project budgeting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with construction management software is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
