Description

Do you have a love for the banking industry? AP Professionals has been retained by a community financial institution in search of a Regulatory Reporting Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess some industry experience along with basic accounting knowledge. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit required regulatory reports, including but not limited to:
    • FFIEC 031/041 Call Reports
    • FR Y-9 series
    • FR 2900, FR 2644
    • FDIC Summary of Deposits
    • Applicable state-level reports
  • Ensure compliance with current regulatory standards and updates from regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, risk, and compliance teams to validate the accuracy and completeness of data used in regulatory filings.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and internal controls to support report submissions and facilitate audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory reporting throughout the organization.
  • Serve as a liaison during regulatory exams and external audits.
  • Contribute to system upgrades, process enhancements, and automation efforts related to financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close in coordination with the Financial Reporting Analyst, including preparing journal entries, advanced reconciliations, and SEC reporting schedules.
  • Support general ledger maintenance, including interpreting data, resolving accounting discrepancies, and troubleshooting processing issues.
  • Generate special financial reports for management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant data.
  • Provide cross-functional assistance to Accounting team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure efficient operations and support overall company objectives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • 1–3 years of direct experience in regulatory reporting within the banking or financial services sector preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Solid understanding of GAAP, banking regulations, and regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g., FFIEC, FRB, FDIC).
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting tools such as AxiomSL, Vermeg, Finastra, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of managing multiple deadlines accurately.
  • Collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach.
