Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a leading Rochester manufacturing company in search of a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will oversee the accurate and timely preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial data in compliance with US GAAP, collaborate with operational teams and parent company leadership, and support the year-end audit.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist with month-end close processes and financial analysis.
  • Develop complex accounting analyses to support business operations.
  • Perform general accounting tasks and maintain a strong internal control environment.
  • Collaborate with operational teams and parent company accounting leadership.
  • Research and advise on proper US GAAP accounting treatment for new processes.
  • Stay updated on and ensure compliance with GAAP standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Research accounting regulations and recommend policy updates.
  • Support general ledger system maintenance and related accounting tasks.
  • Establish, document, and implement approved policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized records in both digital and physical formats.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities and perform other assigned duties as needed.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements and general ledgers.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial analysis.
  • Skilled in reconciling data, risk assessment, and subjective accounting analysis.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience in leadership, team development, and business partnership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
