Senior Accountant

AP Professionals is partnering with a stable and long-standing supplier in Henrietta to fill a newly created Senior Accountant role. The organization is growing and doing well, and simply needs more hands on their accounting and finance team. You'd work closely with the Controller and CFO, who have a defined growth plan for this new hire. No direct reports to start, but the goal is to advance to a management title and begin to supervise others in the near future. Fully onsite. A true career opportunity!

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Assist in preparing and filing sales tax.
• Reconcile key accounts during the month-end close process, investigating any variances.
• Keep an eye out for process improvement opportunities.
• Critically review trial balances to correct problems prior to closing.
• Facilitate audits by providing timely and accurate documentation to auditors.
• Cross train all functions in the accounting department to aid the Controller with balancing workloads and covering absences.
• Assist in calculating and posting month- and year-end closing entries.
• Other project work and special tasks as assigned.

• bachelor's degree in accounting required

• 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience
• prior experience supervising others or reviewing work is preferred, but not required
• candidates with some public accounting experience are preferred
