Senior Accountant III

AP Professionals has partnered with a local food manufacturing company to find a Senior Accountant III. The Senior Accountant III is responsible for preparing and analyzing daily corporate accounting entries, reconciliations, reports, and statements, coordinating third-party audit information, contributing to financial reporting and process improvements for newly acquired businesses, executing financial controls, and potentially overseeing junior staff. This position is fully remote.

• Prepare, review, and post month-end close accounting entries in compliance with GAAP standards, including cost accounting, capitalization of labor and freight, inventory management, leading year-end inventory counts, implementing a robust cycle counting program, managing inventory reserves, controlling costs, and assisting with invoicing support for end-of-life inventory.
• Maintain and update accounting records and files, including balance sheet reconciliations, in accordance with company policies and processes.
• Analyze actual results against budgets, communicating key drivers of variances to accounting leadership and finance teams.
• Prepare and review recurring and ad-hoc financial reports for leadership.
• Prepare and review year-end accounting disclosures and audit documents.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, operations, supply chain, and tax, to understand business practices and provide support for financial reporting and analysis.
• Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses by identifying and implementing accounting process improvements and synergies with the legacy business.
• Work closely with operations to provide guidance on company accounting policies, processes, and controls.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA strongly desired.

• At least 3 years of experience in accounting.
• Experience in the manufacturing or food industry desired.
• Experience with inventory or cost accounting is a plus.
• Experience with business combination accounting a plus.

• Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Preferred experience in public accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical accounting guidance.
• Self-starter and team player.
• Capable of working independently and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to diplomatically resolve challenges.
