AP Professionals is collaborating with a local manufacturing company seeking a Senior Buyer to join their team. This role reports directly to the Supply Chain manager and will oversee the detailed sourcing and buying of goods and services. The Senior Buyer position entails negotiating contracts, enhancing supplier terms, and identifying cost-saving opportunities through proficient use of negotiation tactics and procurement strategies. Additionally, the Senior Buyer will provide guidance and assistance to other Buyers within the supply chain team.


  • Facilitates communication between suppliers and various departments regarding purchasing processes, new projects, and activities.
  • Develops a comprehensive spreadsheet detailing suppliers' capabilities.
  • Supports Estimating by providing input on material pricing and availability.
  • Collaborates with Customer Service and Production Scheduling to ensure customer requirements are effectively communicated to suppliers.
  • Monitors and advises on organizational risks and opportunities.
  • Tracks market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier audits.
  • Procures goods, materials, components, resale items, and services while meeting cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Allocates raw materials efficiently.
  • Assists all relevant departments and communicates supply-related issues impacting business operations.
  • Analyzes costs, both new and existing, and identifies opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Prepares and updates reports as necessary.
  • Manages and adjusts inventory levels at external warehouses (3PL) and internal locations (145) to optimize working capital and ensure rotation.
  • Collaborates closely with procurement team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business enhancement.
  • Monthly monitoring of waste/scrap paper sales.
  • Creates and manages purchase orders as required.
  • Maintains optimal inventory levels to meet stock needs and minimize waste.
  • Ensures vendor/supplier quality documents comply with ISO & FSC standards.
  • Oversees fulfillment inventory, including cycle counting.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintains a tidy and organized work area.
  • Stays informed about regulations and industry best practices.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is desirable.



  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in vendor management and cultivating supplier relationships.
  • Proven track record of achieving cost savings and implementing process improvement initiatives.
