Description
AP Professionals of Rochester has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Senior Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer, who will provide Engineering oversight of equipment and supporting systems to efficiently maintain and reliably operate the manufacturing equipment on site.
Responsibilities
- Proficient in diagnosing machine issues and conducting root cause analysis, including expertise in electric and servo motors, mechanisms, and sensors. Proficiency in CAD for custom hardware design, encompassing brackets, guards, and replacement hardware. Background in precision machinery, machine building, and automation integration is essential.
- Identify and formulate preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to enhance uptime, reduce maintenance expenses, and improve overall reliability, quality, productivity, and safety.
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement Lean activities and contribute to the development of reports, summaries, and capital aCAR protocols. Apply a deep understanding of fundamental engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Offer solutions to a range of technical problems, from simple to moderately complex, and operate with minimal supervision, following established procedures. Analyze data, taking into account various factors.
- Execute projects, including multiple support projects, with overall guidance from higher-level engineers regarding expected outcomes.
- Foster effective communication channels across departments to achieve plant maintenance and reliability objectives.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing).
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- Proficiency in ensuring GMP compliance and meeting regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in diagnosing machine issues and conducting root cause analysis, particularly with electric and servo motors, mechanisms, and sensors.
- CAD proficiency for designing and drafting custom hardware components, including brackets, guards, and replacement parts.
- Background in precision machinery, machine assembly, and automation integration.
- Travel requirements: No specific travel is mandated, with expectations of no more than 5%.
- Expertise in machine alignments and mechanical metrology.
