Service & Installation Technician I or II

AP Professionals has partnered with a local commercial security solutions provider seeking a level I and level II Service & Installation Technician to join their growing team. This is a small, family owned business based in Rochester that serves New York State. Training, tools, and equipment provided. Install and maintain low voltage systems for Fire, Security, Access control, video, etc. This is a supportive, respected, and team-oriented company!

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity

• Assist other technicians with cable, conduit or other field devices to maintain, repair or replace security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment.
• Mount and fasten control panels, card readers, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attached electrical, telephone and network wiring to connect components.
• Assist field technicians with service issues.
• Follow the established operations procedures to ensure timely resolution or escalation of issues.
• Complete work order paperwork, expense reports and other necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Communicate with manager/supervisor with job status details, problems, potential issues and any other necessary information.

• An associate’s degree in Low Voltage Electronics or similar experience.
• OSHA 10 and NICET Level I certifications are preferred

• Must have at least 2 year experience in the low voltage industry.
• Experience in installation and termination with Cat5e and Cat6 cables highly desired.

• Possess aptitude & skill in commonly used industry materials, tools, & products.
• Must have troubleshooting skills to isolate causes and expedite solutions on equipment.
• Must be comfortable working in tight spaces and on high ladders.
• Possess a successful track record with customer satisfaction.
• Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
