AP Professionals has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of a open Shipping and Receiving position. This is a hands-on contract-to-hire position responsible for shipping and loading product.

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

  • Evaluate customer shipping orders to determine the type of transportation needed.
  • Contact carrier representatives to plan and issue instructions for loading and delivery of products.
  • Load and unload shipping trucks.
  • Operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks and more safely and efficiently.
  • Look up and compute freight or postal rates both national and international.
  • Verify and keep records on the weight and cost of each outgoing shipment as well as the condition of the contents received in incoming shipments.
  • Prepare shipping documents, mailing labels as well as international required documents for international customer orders.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents, gather, and maintain all data relative to shipping activities.
  • Organize and arrange warehouse for safety and straightforward manageability.
  • Update service department processes as changes occur within the company.
  • Coordinate and perform quarterly cycle count and annual physical inventory.
  • Maintain fluency in all IT software as it relates to department deliverables.
  • Audit processes with the service department staff.


  • High school diploma or GED required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge in Domestic and International shipping requirements
  • Demonstrates advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and proficiency in shipping programs (such as UPS, FedEx, DHL) and the creation of Bill of Lading (BOL).
  • Exhibits precise data entry capabilities and a fundamental understanding of ERP systems.
  • Highly skilled in time management and organization, excelling under pressure, managing multiple tasks, prioritizing workloads, and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable in inventory control practices.
  • Capable of working efficiently within a team and autonomously.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • In the performance of job duties, regularly uses hands for handling objects, tools, or controls, reaches with hands and arms, and engages in effective verbal communication.
  • Possesses specific visual abilities, including close vision, necessary for job-related tasks."
