Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a well-established and growing manufacturer on the west side of Rochester seeking a Staff Accountant.  This company is growing through acquisition and is a great opportunity for someone eager to expand their accounting skill set. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, resolving discrepancies, and investigating variances.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Review, verify, and post daily sales batch activity across all accounts.
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Manage the fixed asset register and calculate monthly depreciation.
  • Assist in preparing year-end audit and review documentation for external CPA firms.
  • Conduct in-depth account analysis and reconciliation as needed.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA is a plus.

Experience

  • At least 4 years of progressive experience across diverse accounting functions, with a strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proven expertise in accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Advanced Excel proficiency; Microsoft GP experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and independent work capabilities.
