Supply Chain Manager

AP Professionals has partnered with a food and beverage manufacturing company in search of a Supply Chain Manager. The Supply Chain manager plays a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations by effectively managing, evaluating, negotiating, and sourcing raw materials on a global scale, with a primary focus on fruit procurement. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining demand planning processes for all finished goods, ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet customer demands.

• Foster supplier relationships through the establishment of standards, conducting site visits, monitoring compliance, and engaging in negotiations for pricing.
• Ensure competitive product pricing by negotiating material costs and actively seeking out new suppliers.
• Acquire necessary ingredients by closely monitoring production plans, schedules, quantities produced, and inventory levels, placing orders, and expediting deliveries.
• Maintain, update, and manage a specification database.
• Collaborate closely with Quality Control and Project Managers to optimize product sourcing processes.
• Establish demand planning methodologies that incorporate historical trends and planned promotional activities.
• Manage inventory levels by developing production schedules for all contract manufacturing partners based on forecasts, capacities, raw material availability, price, and quality considerations.
• Coordinate with the logistics team to provide real-time and detailed information on raw materials and finished products.
• Maintain daily communication with suppliers in Chinese, serving as a direct liaison between the Rochester, NY office and China.
• Contribute to organizational effectiveness by identifying both short-term and long-range issues that require attention.
• Develop plans by analyzing and interpreting data, conducting comparative analyses, and recommending various options and courses of action.
• Identify buying patterns through research on purchasing activities and input relevant data and economic indicators.
• Develop and maintain accurate forecasts by tracking and incorporating changes into forecast models.
• Safeguard the organization's market position by maintaining the confidentiality of sales and forecast information.
• Fulfill purchasing and organizational goals by accomplishing related tasks and objectives.
• Stay updated on business trends by tracking industry developments, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and engaging in professional organizations.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field, or possess an Associate's Degree coupled with substantial relevant work experience

• Proficient in international transportation terms and procedures, including INCOTERMS, ISF filing, Commercial Invoices, customs clearance, and Harmonized Tariff classification.

• Strong proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese is highly desirable.
• Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers, while consistently upholding the company's core values.
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a particular focus on follow-up and organizational abilities.
• Possess experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook, with a strong proficiency in Excel.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is an advantage.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of demand planning, forecasting, and production scheduling.
• Ability to analyze intricate data sets and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
