Description

AP Professionals is partnering with an established packaging manufacturer in search of a Supply Chain Manager. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for executing procurement, logistics, transportation, fleet management, and inventory management, overseeing supply chain strategies, and ensuring high customer satisfaction levels. They will also manage inventory control, order fulfillment, and logistics functions.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with suppliers to drive down costs.
  • Provide direction and make decisions in the procurement of materials, services, and supplies to increase cost competitiveness and create strong business partnerships.
  • Negotiate and maintain pricing with vendors/suppliers to ensure competitiveness and yearly cost reduction.
  • Purchase raw materials, molding services, consumables, and supplies cost-effectively and with on-time delivery.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of raw materials costs to ensure purchases align with industry index adjustments.
  • Monitor supplier performance and hold regular review meetings.
  • Develop a supply base that supports value add offerings in line with a growth strategy.
  • Implement dual-sourcing strategies where necessary.
  • Establish standard procedures for the management of price changes and other purchasing activities.
  • Strengthen relationships with key suppliers to ensure business continuity.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate internal departments, vendors, and suppliers to meet required inventory levels and customer demands.
  • Participate and support Supply Planning activities that help meet demand at the wash plants.
  • Take part in the daily and weekly wash plant execution plans to ensure that the forecast is met.
  • Design and implement performance metrics that align with scorecard objectives, and promote their ongoing use.
  • Conduct inventory audits and monitor and maintain inventory to standard/appropriate levels, reorders as needed.
  • Ensure orders are shipped on time, efficiently, and are with cost-competitive freight rates
  • Oversee and assist in managing production flow from purchasing of materials to delivery of final product

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree - in business, manufacturing, or supply chain management, preferred

Experience

  • 7+ years of order Supply Chain Management required
  • 7+ years management experience required
  • 7+ years of manufacturing industry experience required
  • Plastic molding and resin purchasing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Technical skills MS Office with strong skills in Excel and Word
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
