Description

AP has partnered with a fantastic growing company that is seeking a dynamic Linux Systems Administrator. Open due to continued growth and success within the company. Support two 500 core and growing, Linux HC clusters using OpenPBS job scheduler and Ansys. Serve the needs of both external and internal customers, with a key role in optimizing the Linux HPC Cluster for engineers conducting Ansys simulations. Applicants must be proficient in Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Manage two Linux HPC clusters, each with 500 cores and expanding, utilizing OpenPBS job scheduler & Ansys RSM.
  • Spearhead the construction of a third Linux HPC cluster boasting over 500 cores.
  • Uphold and enhance a bespoke HPC job status website (created with Tomcat, PHP, CGI, HTML).
  • Innovate reporting functionalities for monitoring HPC cluster usage and optimization.
  • Provide support for over 50 engineering professionals utilizing Ansys software on the clusters.
  • Deliver top-notch email and phone support to external customers.
  • Diagnose and resolve both basic and intricate Ansys-related issues, including the collection and review of diagnostic logs.
  • Collaborate with Ansys directly when necessary, ensuring seamless escalation and resolution.
  • Contribute to the creation of Knowledge Base articles for our publicly accessible knowledge repository.
  • Gain expertise in the support domain through exposure to the simulation software.
  • Provide assistance and troubleshoot common hardware and software queries for internal users in Windows and M365 environments.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience or equivalent education / IT certifications 
  • Strong understanding and experience configuring maintaining Linux OSs (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) 
  • Ability to troubleshoot advanced Linux software, hardware, and network problems efficiently and effectively 
  • Windows Server Administration 
  • Support & troubleshoot all common and desktop applications within a Windows and M365 environment. 
  • Bash Scripting 
  • Working knowledge or ability to quickly learn CGI Scripting, HTML, PHP 
  • Comprehensive documentation of complex systems. 
  • Desired experience in the following
    • InfiniBand and RoCE Networking 
    • OpenPBS, Slurm HPC job schedulers or related technology 
    • Ansys Software, Ansys Remote Solver Manger 
    • FlexLM License Manager 
    • Use of WinBind and SSSD with Windows Active Directory
