Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a thriving precision manufacturing company with its leadership in Rochester.  This is a non-union environment with approximately 350 employees and growing. The VP of Human Resources will work to lead a decentralized team of professionals and focus on building an integrated function and lead the ongoing strategic partnership with operations.  This company is poised for growth and future acquisitions and the VP of Human Resources is a new position that will be a key leader during a significant period in the company’s history.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Advise CEO and senior leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.
  • Standardize HR policies across locations, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Lead recruitment to attract and retain top talent across five locations.
  • Develop effective onboarding programs for new hires.
  • Implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance retention and work environment.
  • Promote a collaborative culture and address employee concerns.
  • Implement training, performance management, and recognition programs to boost development and satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
  • Oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Update HR policies to reflect best practices and maintain compliance.
  • Develop programs to nurture future leaders.
  • Create succession planning strategies for growth and leadership transitions.
  • Support facility managers across all locations, ensuring a unified HR strategy.
  • Regularly visit facilities to assess and ensure consistent HR practices.
  • Implement HR metrics to track effectiveness, engagement, and turnover.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree or HR certification preferred.

Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proven track record in managing HR for multi-site organizations, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations in OH, NY, MA, and NH.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, capable of leading HR teams across various locations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organizational change, especially during growth or transformation phases.
  • Strong analytical skills to convert data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to each facility as needed is preferred.
