AP Professionals is partnering with a local organization in search of a Workforce Success Coach. The Success Coach is a dedicated resource for employees, providing personalized coaching to identify and pursue career, education, and life goals. Through close collaboration, the coach helps create customized Success Plans, addressing barriers to goal attainment by facilitating connections and providing assistance with external resources like housing, transportation, workplace conflict, and childcare. The Coach is committed to gaining a comprehensive understanding and cross-training in bundled services areas, encompassing Employment, Education, Financial Coaching, and Income Support.


Integrated Services Related to Working Family Success (WFS) Model:

  • Assess and determine eligibility for WFS services, running necessary reports as required.

Community Resources and Involvement with Outside Agencies:

  • Refer employees appropriately and connect them to interagency bundled services or external service providers.
  • Utilize data-driven results for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Attend community events, professional development trainings/seminars.
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with community partners.
  • Possess knowledge of community resources and service providers in Monroe and surrounding counties of Rochester, NY.
  • Coaching Model, Methods, and Techniques:
  • Apply coaching techniques to provide support, encouragement, and motivation for employees to reach career and life goals.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the coaching model, utilizing motivational interviewing and a strengths-based approach.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, social/interpersonal skills, and writing ability.
  • Assess barriers, explore resources, and provide accountability.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Maintain organization and efficient time management.
  • Exercise cultural competency and awareness.

Financial Coaching Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in defining and developing a practical budget, emphasizing goal-based spending.
  • Provide coaching to employees seeking to enhance, advance, or modify their behaviors, aligning with their career and life objectives.
  • Utilize coaching techniques to aid employees in setting and attaining their financial goals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in understanding, interpreting, and educating employees on various financial topics and products, including credit reports, credit scores, budgeting, banking/savings, asset building, Credit Karma,, etc.

Employment Coaching Responsibilities:

  • Offer support, encouragement, and guidance to help employees achieve their occupational goals.
  • Assist in developing, defining, and achieving goals through the creation of a success plan.
  • Collaborate with employees to identify and address barriers to employment, brainstorming effective solutions.
  • Utilize both internal and external resources to provide free training that supports employees in advancing their careers.
  • Provide support in developing life skills and fostering holistic health, including mental health.

Skills, Responsibilities, and Tasks Related to Income/Resource Support:

  • Aid in preventing or eliminating barriers by connecting employees to relevant resources and community services.
  • Monitor adherence to program guidelines by employees and provide necessary follow-up, including the development of action plans.
  • Respond to crises by assisting with emergency needs as they arise.
  • Perform file and data maintenance duties.
  • Document and update all service delivery entries in the agency database promptly.
  • Ensure documentation complies with all grant requirements.
  • Collect and provide monthly data reports to the supervisor.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly evaluations and follow-ups to assess participant progress and gather data for grant reporting.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


  • Associates Degree in Human Resources / Social Work / Social services / Psychology required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent amount of education and experience.


Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required;

  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Fluency with ATS’s and HRIS systems required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Expertise with all social media platforms
  • Established Community services network/connections

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Must be comfortable with social/in-person and electronic networking and building effective recruiting partnerships / relationships
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to accept supervision and constructive suggestions to improve service delivery
  • Must have reliable transportation and a current driver’s license
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team
  • Flexibility to work various hours and possibly evenings or weekends
  • Participate in Fund Raising activities, extracurricular events, and intake services as requested
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability tov communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Must have excellent computer skills. (Excel, Microsoft Office, Human Resources software programs)
  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully
  • Good organizational skills and ability to handle confidential information
