Description

AP Professionals is partnering with a local establishment in search of an Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant will manage multiple tasks with deadlines, ensuring transparent and complete reports to management in line with the company's Financial Policies and GAAP. This role requires a fundamental understanding of general accounting principles, techniques, and practices, along with strong computer skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing cash receipt reports, including daily bank deposits.
  • Accurately balance deposits for entry into the general ledger before making bank deposits.
  • Record cash receipt activities for posting into the general ledger.
  • Perform entry-level accounting functions as assigned.
  • Assist with administering program reimbursement contracts by obtaining the necessary information to complete the contracting process.
  • Provide support for accounts payable processes as needed.
  • Identify financial process and internal control issues, and recommend improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Adhere to CCDOR’s internal control policies and assist with external audits.
  • Conduct various financial analyses as needed.
  • Participate in meetings and training programs as required.
  • Understand and uphold CCDOR’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • One to three years of financial or billing work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with attention to detail, are essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines are necessary.
  • Must have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in financial/accounting software is required.
