AP Professionals is partnering with a local establishment in search of an Accounts Payable - Bookkeeper. As an Accounts Payable Bookkeeper, you'll be integral to supporting the Finance Director in achieving goals. Collaborate closely with the finance team, contribute to planning and oversight of disbursement and collection activities, and develop financial accountability systems. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to ensure financial integrity and success through meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely payment of bills by verifying all invoices and receipts on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain accurate vendor files for efficient record-keeping.
  • Coordinate weekly check signing with Pastors and oversee the mailing process.
  • Manage the procurement of banking supplies, including checks and deposit slips.
  • Provide coordination and assistance to counters on Mondays.
  • Review cash counting procedures to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Distribute Tamper Evident bags weekly to locations for various collections and events.
  • Maintain stock of Tamper Evident bags and accurate logs.
  • Monitor Soft entries throughout the year and coordinate printing and mailing of year-end statements in a timely manner.
  • Obtain necessary insurance paperwork from vendors and update tracking spreadsheet accordingly.
  • Perform other assignments and tasks as required.

Education

  • Associates/bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficient in financial disciplines covering accounting and operations management.
  • Skilled in analytical techniques, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations, financial standards, and principles to develop and uphold financial procedures, policies, records, and reports.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiating, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to travel within the Pittsford/Fairport, NY area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Google Docs, SharePoint, and general ledger software, with a track record of enhancing productivity through program definition and refinement.
  • Capability to establish and communicate consistent business principles effectively to garner stakeholder buy-in.
