Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a local manufacturing company in search of a temporary, part-time Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing and verifying AP transactions while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations. Duties include invoice processing, discrepancy resolution, and record maintenance. Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are essential for effective interaction across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure accurate vendor setup and complete information.
  • Verify proper documentation and approvals for vendor invoices, vouchers, expense reports, and check requests.
  • Enter invoices, vouchers, check requests, and credit/debit memos into the system.
  • Confirm vendor tax status and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor invoices for adherence to Sales & Use tax regulations.
  • Process weekly payments, wire transfers, and void payments as needed.
  • Perform month-end accruals for outstanding invoices.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the A/P sub-ledger, including credit memos, vendor holds, credit balances, and uncashed checks.
  • Generate month-end reports as required.
  • Research and resolve invoice issues for the finance department.
  • Maintain organized invoice records per Finance Department policies.
  • Conduct monthly GRNI (Goods Received Not Invoiced) review and reconciliation.

Education

  • Associate's degree or combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Experience in accounts payable.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong data entry and numerical accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
