Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a manufacturing company that has been in business for multiple decades, and is seeking a Buyer to join their team. The Buyer will manage the end-to-end purchasing process, from order placement to product receipt, for a designated group of vendors within the ERP system. This role involves frequent communication with vendors, internal departments, and customers, fostering robust relationships crucial for optimizing supply chain operations and ensuring overall efficiency and success. 3 years of experience within purchasing desired!

This position is a direct hire, full-time role with a hybrid model.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute purchase orders in alignment with forecasted and actual demand using the ERP system.
  • Release purchase orders to approved suppliers via the ERP system, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments, optimizing container and truckload shipments for cost efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate supplier information in the system regarding lead times, pricing, and contacts.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning and Sales teams to monitor customer forecasts and recommend adjustments.
  • Cultivate proactive relationships with external suppliers, consultants, and internal group companies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Engineering in the setup of new products.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to address supplier quality issues effectively.

Experience

  • 3+ years of procurement experience, encompassing global procurement, freight management, logistics, and customs.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, facilitating efficient procurement processes.
  • Proficient understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, contract negotiation, and forecasting.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint,
