Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer specializing in Lathes to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in programming and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, specifically Lathes. This role requires a deep understanding of machining processes, precision, and the ability to translate engineering designs into efficient CNC programs.

 

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

This opportunity is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs for Lathes based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Configure and set up CNC machines for optimal performance, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in machining operations.
  • Choose appropriate tools and cutting parameters for machining operations, considering material and design requirements.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on machined parts, making adjustments to programs as necessary to meet specifications.
  • Identify and address any issues or deviations during the machining process, troubleshoot programming errors, and optimize programs for efficiency.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, tool selections, and machine set-up parameters.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in CNC technology, contributing to the continuous improvement of machining processes.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in CNC programming is a plus.

Experience

  • Previous experience in CNC programming for Lathes in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer with a focus on Lathes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
  • In-depth knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
