Description

AP Professionals has partnered with an employee owned company that is looking to add a Contract Manager to their growing team. This newly created role is open due to growth and expansion within the company. The Contract Manager will develop processes and track information. Create processes and procedures from scratch and assist with negotiating, finalizing, and tracking all agreements. A legal background is not required, however individuals must hold in-depth knowledge and experience in contractual language and multi-state contract experience from scratch. Prior industry experience in electrical or public utilities is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Finalize complex contracts and handle the creation, review, editing, negotiation, and more.
  • Speak to executive leaders and C-Suite on business risks that are associated with terms and conditions within contracts.
  • Monitor compliance in regards to contract terms and conditions.
  • Follow contract modifications, amendments, extensions, and closeouts. Work with operational leaders to ensure protocols are performed and documented.
  • Develop a contract and compliance tracking systems and use data to drive improvements to contract compliance and commercial outcomes.
  • Identify emerging contract budget, performance, compliance, and legal issues. Facilitate and coordinate solutions with internal teams.
  • Partner with internal and external counsel on commercial, compliance, and contract litigation matters, as needed.

Education

  • Bachelors’ degree required
  • MBA a strong preference

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience for contract management and reporting.
  • Experience managing contracts with public utilities or electrical cooperatives a plus
  • Multi-state contract management a plus
  • Understanding and experience with contract provisions and legal terms
