Design Mechanical Engineer

AP Professionals has partnered with a manufacturer in the Lockport, NY area who has been in business for decades looking for a Design Mechanical Engineer. The Design Engineer performs ASME code calculations specific to heat exchangers and pressure vessels and supports our growing design efforts to develop custom solutions.

• Supports clients with technical design engineering by creating detailed layouts, schematics, drawings, and cost analyses.
• Assists the engineering department by producing precise designs using heat exchanger software, ASME Code software, or other relevant tools.
• Contributes to the development of accurate engineering specifications for designing or procuring subsystems, components, and engineering services.
• Helps create written proposals, instructions, manuals, and other documentation for customers and internal users.
• Reviews customer design specifications and requests to assess feasibility and applicability.
• Prepares cost estimates and quotations, following up as needed to support new business opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering Technology.

• Experience conducting ASME code calculations.

• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASME, TEMA, and API.
• Understanding of the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
